Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), Kwale campus, crushed Mabokoni United 4-2 in a penalty shootout necessitated by a 1-1 draw in a thrilling soccer match on February 11, 2026, in Kwale’s Mabokoni grounds.
During the official time, the two sides seemed to display equal prowess. TUM had shown signs of dominating the match early when they outsmarted Mabokoni United defense on the 12th minute of the first half and scored their first goal.
Mabokoni United tried to fight back tooth and nail for the rest of the first half by intensifying attacks but TUM defense proved impenetrable. It was difficult to tell which side is strong than the other.
When the second half started, Mabokoni United fine-tuned their forward and attacks and through their dependable striker Abdallah Mdeka penetrated TUM defense around mid-way of the second half and they clinched their first goal. This equalized the game to 1-1 and it remained so up to the time of last whistle.
The draw prompted penalties in order to determine who will rule the pitch, whereupon TUM Kwale Campus smashed Mabokoni United 4-2 sending the fans into jubilation while Mabokoni boys held their hands on their heads over the shock defeat.
