The Technical University of Mombasa (TUM), through the Institute of Maritime and Seafaring Studies (IMSS), in partnership with the Association of Maritime Practitioners Kenya (AMPK), hosted the official launch of Capt. Musa Ittiso's Autobiography, on Saturday, 26 September 2026.

The event celebrated the life, career, and achievements of Capt. Musa Ittiso, a distinguished maritime professional and a member of the IMSS Industry Advisory Board, whose contributions have significantly influenced maritime education, professional development, and the growth of Kenya's maritime sector.

Capt. Musa Ittiso's autobiography captures a remarkable journey of leadership, professionalism, service, and dedication to the maritime industry. The publication documents personal experiences and professional milestones that mirror the growth and transformation of Kenya's maritime sector over the years.

Senior Marine Pilot and Chief Pilot at KPA noted that "The launch of Capt. Musa Ittiso's autobiography reflects our commitment to preserving maritime knowledge, celebrating professional excellence, and inspiring future generations of maritime leaders." He further stated that 

On Behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof Laila Abubakar, the Director of the Institute of Maritime and Seafaring Studies, Capt. Talib Mohammed noted to the Cadets that “This publication is a valuable contribution to Kenya's maritime heritage and a source of inspiration for practitioners across the industry."
