A warm welcome to the Department of Medical Engineering!
Established in 1986, the Department of Medical Engineering is one of the university’s oldest departments. Located at the Main Campus, it is among the pioneering institutions in medical engineering education in East and Central Africa.
We offer accredited undergraduate programs and practically oriented diploma programs in Medical Engineering, alongside specialized programs such as the Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. These programs equip students with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies needed to meet the evolving demands of the healthcare technology sector.
Our programs integrate engineering principles with medical sciences to prepare graduates for careers in the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and management of medical equipment and healthcare technologies. Students benefit from a balanced combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practical training, supported by qualified academic and technical staff.
