TUM SHINES IN THE NAIROBI INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR, 2018
Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) students stole the show during the Nairobi international trade fair 2018. An invention dubbed integrated solid waste management system by William Masha from the Department of Electrical and Electronics made TUM to emerge victorious in the category of Best stand in youth activities, empowerment and capacity building. Masha’s invention is a digital dust bin which sends signals to a central point once it’s full of garbage for quick collection to avoid over spilling of the waste. In an exclusive interview with Corporate Communications office, Masha revealed that the menace of garbage in Mombasa city which is a tourist hub prompted him to look for a permanent solution.
