This division is charged with show casing TUM products and services to the public. The popular avenues through which the institution has participated in extension services are exhibitions organized either locally or regionally.
The regular exhibitions TUM has been participating in include the Mombasa Agricultural Society Show (ASK) and the Nairobi International Trade Fair. In 2009, the institution entered into three judgement categories where it attained positions two categories and three in the other. However, in 2010 the institution entered into three judgement categories and attained position one in one category and two in the other two categories. The attainment of position one in 2010 saw the institution record history when the president of Kenya, His Excellency, Mwai Kibaki awarded a trophy to the director of IRIE (Dr. Charles M. Matoka) who represented the Principal (Prof. Josphat K. Z. Mwatelah). A similar scenario was repeated in the same year when TUM joined other TIVET institutions at the ministerial stand during the Nairobi International Trade Fair where the TUM exhibits entered in the category of information technology won position one and saw the representative of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Higher Education Science and Technology Mr. Aturgo awarded a trophy by His Excellency the president.
TUM regularly participates in the inter-Universities exhibition that is organized annually in the different regions. Besides the above, the institution has been participating in organized scientific conferences where participating scientists and their collaborators disseminate their research findings, share experiences gained and lessons learnt with the stakeholders.
