LAUNCH OF TUM CLINICAL DIGNOSTIC LAB

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Laila Abubakar launches a diagnostic unit at the department of Medical Sciences. The facility will collaborate with the TUM health clinic to offer diagnostic services which will save the patient the trouble of referral to Tudor Health Care for the same services.

 

The Unit will be testing both routine test such as malaria parasite, typhoid, hemoglobin concentration; and rapid test like H-pylori, Hepatitis, Syphilis, HIV and many more. The unit coordinates with Ministry of Health through Public Health Department of Mombasa County to offer quality services. Meanwhile the lab serves both staff and student’s plans are underway to open the entire health facility for the general public.

 

 “Currently all tests will be conducted here in the Medical Sciences Department awaiting the state of- the-art equipment that will soon be procured before shifting to the clinic itself” prof. Laila said the Health Unit members of staff registered Medical laboratory  technicians who happen to ran the facility.
