GERMANY DELEGATION VISITS TUM

University students in Kenya and Africa at large have urged to take technical courses serious for the country and the entire continent to achieve its dreams. Addressing TUM top management at the conference hall on 26th September 2018, a team of Germany Professors led by Prof Dr. Martin Kashl revealed that a giant mobile manufacturing company wants to set base in Kenya in the near future.

“Plans are at advanced stage for Siemens to establish a production company in Kenya. They will need many engineers and other experts. The young people must take advantage of this golden opportunity at door step.” Prof Martin explained. The Germany academicians encouraged Kenyan universities to embrace the dual degree program for their students to get international recognition. They expounded that the system focuses on practical approach where students pursue their vocational training at companies in full time while lectures take place one afternoon during the week and on Saturdays.

They urged students to come up with research proposals since there are many funding opportunities in Germany. In her remarks, TUM Vice chancellor Prof Laila Abubakar reiterated the need for all lecturers in technical institutions to have industrial practical experience to equip students with the relevant skills needed in the field.
