State-of-the-art campaigns as TUMSO picks new leaders

Vuvuzelas, expensive colored banners and posters, chase cars characterized campaigns ahead of this year’s Technical University of Mombasa Students Organization polls slated for Friday, June 2, 2017.

This was the first time TUMSO hopefuls mounted high flying campaigns that indicated the seriousness with which office seekers took matters student representation.

All the posts are up for grabs as TUM prepares to usher in a new academic year after end of this semester examinations early next month before the long vacation.

Posters were glued anywhere they could be spotted to scream the vision of their respective candidates while expensive, colored and state of the art banners hang from the gate right into the administration block.

Aspirants exuded confidence from Wednesday through the Madaraka Day celebrations addressing voters as they sought to get winning margins at the polls.

Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Laila Abubakar, DVC-AFP Professor Joseph Rasowo and Dean of Students Joel Awino were optimistic of peaceful elections.

Engineering Block, M-Block and Applied Sciences are the polling stations at the Tudor main campus with Lamu and Kwale Campus students having a polling centre within their respective centers.
