TUM shines in the KUSA women games

There was pomp and colour as Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) women Tae Kwan Do team received a trophy during the fifth edition of KUSA women championship.

 

TUM sports ladies represented the University in Badminton, Table Tennis, Basket ball, Hand ball, Netball, Football and Tae Kwan Do. The tournament was held on 5th and 6th March 2016 at Pwani University in Kilifi County. 

The Tae Kwon Do team made TUM to emerge position 3. Position 1 and 2 were scooped by Egerton and Kenya Methodist Universities. The other teams put on a gallant of effort but did not manage to qualify for the finals. Nonetheless TUM performed well and was the talk of the tournament.

 

Games were played across different venues including Shanzu TTC, Shimo la Tewa ( Basketball) and Baobab Resort Kilifi. Students got opportunity to enjoy sea breeze of the vast beaches of Indian Ocean.

A total of 28 universities participated in the fifth edition of KUSA women championship.

    well, TUM performed well but would have performed better if the neccesary equipments were provided in various activities for training. for instance, badminton rackets to the players, table tennis buts, hockey sticks among others. we are hoping things will change and change soon
