The Department of Business Administration at TUM provides students with the academic programs of general and specialized learning in preparation for responsible careers in the world of business and/or post-graduate study.
The education experience will enable students to develop the expertise needed to function in a business environment and to develop an understanding of the social and economic forces shaping the future of the world"s economy.
DBAhas been offering undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Administration since its inception. The prime goal of the Department is to provide students with an integrated and practical approach to understanding current business practices.
The Department of Business Administration is thelargest department in the School of Business in Technical University of Mombasa. It has about 2000 students and 100 faculty members and runs three important degree programs:
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA),Master of Science in Human Resources Management (MSc. HRM). The department also offers several diploma programs and TVET courses. Research and teaching are the prime objectives of this department.
The curriculum encourages students to sharpen their analytical and communication skills, placing a balanced emphasis on quantitative and qualitative approaches. Specialized and interdisciplinary courses focus on building leadership abilities, which will allow future managers to operate effectively in an increasingly changing global and technologically advanced marketplace.
The Department of business Administration has qualified and dedicated faculty members both full time and part time faculty. We have also been hiring business executives from the corporate world to teach real-life cases to students. Faculty members publish regularly in different local and international journals. They also spend a lot of time in academic research while being available to student for consultation.
The Department of Business Administration is committed to create business leaders through academic excellence. Our graduates are well-placed and are being absorbed in all positions in industry. We admit students from all over Kenya, East Africa and globally. We have three (3) intakes i.e. January, May and September in a year.
